ManyCam

ManyCam is a virtual webcam application that lets you use one camera across multiple programs simultaneously. It adds effects, overlays, virtual backgrounds, and screen sharing to your webcam feed, making it useful for video calls, live streaming, and online presentations. The software runs on Windows and macOS.

What it does

Once installed, ManyCam creates a virtual camera device on your system. In any video application like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or OBS, you select ManyCam Virtual Webcam as your camera source. Whatever ManyCam outputs becomes your camera feed in that app. You can have it active in multiple applications at the same time, which normal webcams cannot do on their own.

The virtual background feature replaces your real background with an image or blur effect in real time, similar to what Zoom offers natively but available across all apps. Screen sharing through ManyCam works by setting your desktop or a specific window as the video source. Text overlays, image watermarks, and lower thirds sit on top of your feed. You can set up multiple sources and switch between them live.

ManyCam offers both a free tier and paid plans. The free version includes basic virtual camera functionality with a ManyCam watermark. Paid plans remove the watermark, unlock higher resolutions up to 4K, and add features like multiple video sources and picture-in-picture.

Who it is for

I recommend ManyCam if you need your webcam in more than one application at the same time or want consistent virtual backgrounds across different video platforms. If you only use Zoom and its built-in backgrounds are enough, you do not need this. But for streamers, online teachers, and anyone juggling multiple video tools, ManyCam solves the one-camera limitation cleanly.
