1 Notice and takedown
FreewarePub does not host software. Every download link points to the publisher's own servers. If you are the copyright owner of software listed here and want it removed from the catalog, you can file a takedown notice and we will act on it.
For descriptive content (program descriptions, reviews, screenshots) that we wrote or hosted ourselves, send a notice and we will remove it within 5 business days if your claim is complete and valid.
2 How to file a notice
Send an email to hello@freewarepub.org with subject line DMCA Notice. Include all of the following:
- Your name, address, phone number, and email.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed. If multiple works are involved, list each one.
- The URL of the FreewarePub page containing the allegedly infringing material, specific enough that we can locate it.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Incomplete notices cannot be processed. Notices sent for non-copyright reasons (trademark, defamation, "I don't like this review") use the wrong process and will be redirected.
3 Counter-notification
If we removed content you posted and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice. It must include:
- Your name, address, phone number, email, and physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Consent to jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if you are outside the US, the district where FreewarePub is located).
- A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice.
Send counter-notices to the same address: hello@freewarepub.org with subject DMCA Counter-Notice.
4 Repeat infringers
We terminate access for users who repeatedly post infringing content.
