1 What cookies we set
All cookies on FreewarePub are first-party functional cookies. We do not set advertising cookies, do not run remarketing pixels, and do not embed third-party analytics that drop cookies on your browser.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID |
Session ID used to bind your CSRF token when you submit a Q&A post or rating. | Session (deleted when you close the browser) |
rated_<id> |
Marks that you already rated a specific program, so the form does not let you double-vote. | 1 year |
lang_pref |
Remembers your language choice if you switch from the default. | 1 year |
That is the full list. If we add a new cookie in the future, we will update this page first.
2 Third-party loads
The site loads web fonts from Google Fonts at fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google may receive your IP address as part of that request. Google Fonts does not set cookies on your browser.
Online tools may load JavaScript libraries (PDF.js, pdf-lib, etc.) from our own servers - not from a third-party CDN.
3 How to manage cookies
You can block or delete cookies from any browser. Quick links:
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Settings > Privacy > Manage Website Data.
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Cookies and site data.
If you block all cookies, you can still browse the catalog. The Q&A form will refuse to submit because CSRF protection needs the session cookie - that is the only feature that breaks.
4 Why no cookie banner?
Cookie banners exist mostly because of advertising and analytics cookies. We do not run any. Under EU law (ePrivacy and GDPR), strictly necessary functional cookies do not require a banner. If we ever add anything that does, the banner will appear before the cookie is set.
