Any Video Converter
Any Video Converter is a video format converter from Anvsoft Inc. It converts between 200+ video and audio formats, including MP4, MKV, AVI, MOV, WebM, MP3, and FLAC. The free version handles basic conversion, while the Ultimate paid version adds DVD ripping and screen recording.
Available on Windows and macOS.
What it does
Add a video file, pick an output format from the dropdown list, and click Convert Now. The program handles the rest. For batch jobs, add multiple files and they convert one after another with a progress bar for each. You can change resolution (Settings > Video Size), bitrate, and codec before converting.
The trim tool (scissors icon) lets you cut a section from a video by setting start and end points with sliders. If you need to combine multiple clips into one file, the Merge option joins them in the order you arrange.
Any Video Converter also extracts audio from video files. Choose an audio output format (MP3, WAV, AAC, or FLAC) and you get just the sound track. The Ultimate version adds DVD ripping - insert a disc, pick chapters to extract, and convert to MP4 or MKV.
Hardware acceleration through NVIDIA NVENC, Intel Quick Sync, or AMD AMF speeds up conversion significantly on supported systems.
Advantages
- Free version covers basic video conversion without watermarks
- Supports 200+ input and output formats
- GPU acceleration on NVIDIA, Intel, and AMD hardware
- Batch conversion for processing many files at once
Drawbacks
- Free version bundles extra software during installation - watch the checkboxes
- DVD ripping and screen recording locked to Ultimate version
- HandBrake is free and handles most of the same conversions
- Interface is cluttered with ads for the paid version
Who it is for
Any Video Converter works for quick format conversions when you need a file in a different format and do not want to learn ffmpeg commands. The batch conversion and GPU acceleration make it practical for converting many files. For power users, HandBrake does most of the same work for free without the upselling.
