Word Viewer 97-2000
Word Viewer 97-2000 was a free Microsoft utility that let you view and print Word documents without owning Microsoft Office. It opened .doc files from Word 97 and Word 2000 in read-only mode - you could read the content, copy text, and print, but not edit.
What it did
The viewer displayed Word documents with their formatting intact - fonts, tables, images, headers, and page layout appeared as they would in the full Word application. You could navigate through pages, search for text, copy content to the clipboard, and print documents with correct formatting.
