Ubisoft Connect

Ubisoft Connect is the official game launcher and storefront for Ubisoft titles on PC. It serves as the library, store, download manager, and social platform for games like Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Rainbow Six Siege, and Watch Dogs. Most Ubisoft PC games require Ubisoft Connect to run, even when purchased through Steam or Epic Games Store. Free to download and use. Windows only.

What it does

The Games tab shows your entire Ubisoft library with install status, play time, and last played date. Clicking a game opens its page with news, achievements, and in-game rewards (Ubisoft Connect Challenges). These challenges give you points for completing specific tasks in-game, and you spend those points on cosmetic rewards like weapon skins, outfits, wallpapers, and emotes. Each game has its own set of challenges and unlockable items.

The Store tab lets you buy games, DLC, and season passes directly. You can also activate product keys from retail boxes or third-party stores through the menu. Cloud save synchronization backs up your progress automatically, so switching to a new PC restores your saves without manual file copying. The friends list shows who is online and what they are playing, with options to invite them to multiplayer sessions.

If a game has corrupted or missing files, the Verify Files option in game properties checks every file against the server and redownloads anything damaged. An in-game overlay (Shift+F2) provides quick access to chat, achievements, and rewards without leaving the game.

Who it is for

If you play any Ubisoft game on PC, you already need Ubisoft Connect installed. I find the challenge and reward system a nice bonus that gives you free cosmetics just for playing normally. For anyone who owns multiple Ubisoft titles, having them all in one library with cloud saves and cross-platform progress tracking is convenient.
